Desmond Howard is a former wide receiver and return specialist who played the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) during the 1996 and 1999 seasons. Howard played a pivotal role as the kick and punt returner during the Packers Return to Glory, winning the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award at Super Bowl XXXI. Most notably, he returned a kickoff 99 yards for what proved to be the clinching touchdown and set a record with 244 total return yards.
