Eddie Lacy played college football for the University of Alabama. He was a member of the team from 2009-2012. He played behind Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson until 2012, when he became the starting running back. Lacy finished the season with 1,322 rushing yards with 17 rushing touchdowns and 2 receiving touchdowns. On January 11, 2013, Eddie Lacy declared for the 2013 Draft.

The Green Bay Packers drafted Lacy in the second round of the draft. As a rookie he posted 1,178 rushing yards and won the 2013 Offensive Rookie of the Year Award, the first Packer since John Brockington in 1971. In 2014, he rushed for slightly less yards, but was the first Packer since John Brockington to rush for more than a thousand yards in his first two seasons.
